5 Universal Truths

My job is customer service oriented. I've met all shapes and sizes of people from all walks of life. I believe I've witnessed first hand all human emotions, if not most human experiences, both positive and negative. Here are 5 things I've learned from my 6+ years of working in a restaurant or bar. These facts can be applied almost anywhere, and are not just necessarily restricted to within a restaurant's walls.

  • Never judge a book by it's cover. What someone has to offer may surprise you.
  • Treat everyone with respect, and you'll get the same in return.
  • What goes around really does come around, in every sense of the statement.
  • There is no such thing as a secret. The walls really do have ears, and most everyone will know your business within a 24 hour period, if not sooner.
  • Set an example - be that hard worker. Your efforts will not go unnoticed. Most of the time, it will motivate those around you.
